Murr

Murr was born third of a litter of five in 2354. His parents, M’Rrai and T’Rral were artists on the Caitian homeworld of Ferasa. An energetic child Murr was constantly testing the limits of his physical abilities and getting underfoot of his elder siblings.

All that changed in 2364, when exploring alone Murr fell breaking his leg. In his busy household his absence wasn’t noticed until Murr had dragged himself halfway home through the jungle and night was falling. His family had the authorities find Murr with the planetary sensor net and beam him to the hospital.

Murr’s physical recovery took almost no time at all but he was scarred more deeply psychologically. Gone was the reckless kitten of the past and in his place a much more cautious creature. Less time was spent exploring and more time was spent studying or joining his eldest brother in flight simulations.

When Murr and his brother W’rrol reached the age of majority in 2372 they enrolled in Starfleet Academy to fly for real. Both were accepted and both were in the flight controller program, when the Dominion War broke out. The more darring W’Rrol was tapped for accelerated training while the more cautious Murr stayed back and completed his training, graduating with high marks in astrogation. Unfortunately W’Rrol would not live to see it, having died at the Battle of Cardassia.

Sad but determined, Murr has joined the Forger as a junior flight officer, where his cautious nature ensures his navigational computations are meticulous, his tendency to second guess himself gets in the way of his natural reflexes and skills as a pilot.

Note: Murr and his siblings all have prehensile tails.
