INT. RUNABOUT – COCKPIT – DAY 1
Commander Sabin Lahl, a 35-year-old male joined Trill, sits comfortably in the pilot seat, his uniform pressed and done up as he’s gazing out at the vast expanse of space. The runabout hums softly as it glides through the starry backdrop.
SABIN
(whispering to himself)
Seven days… going to be a long trip.
Sabin activates the ship’s computer interface.
SABIN
Computer, initiate personal log.

SABIN
(record)
Stardate 50921.3. This is Commander Sabin Lahl of the USS Forger. I am en route from Trill to rendezvous with my new ship at the edge of the Shackleton Expanse. For the next seven days, it will be just me and my thoughts.
INT. RUNABOUT – COCKPIT – DAY 2
Seated at one of the rear stations with his tunic collar undone he pulls up the images and personnel files of the Forger’s senior officers and goes through them.
SABIN
(to himself)
Seems like an interesting crew, Tanar I know by reputation, Mourad I know from engineering conferences and Rick… has been through a lot since Nimony saw him last, will have to get to know the rest when I get there, they seem solid but like I said, interesting.
INT RUNABOUT – LIVING AREA – Day 3
Sabin, having got rid of his grey and black top of his uniform and just wearing the red undertunic collar unbuttoned settles into the pilot’s seat, carrying PADDs and engineering journals and a bowl of zuvan dessert puffs. He sets the PADDs and bowl down and reads while popping puffs into his mouth.
SABIN
(reading aloud)
“Advancements in Warp Field Theory: A Comprehensive Analysis.” Fascinating.
He continues to immerse himself in the technical literature, making notes and occasionally discussing ideas with the computer between bites of food.
INT. RUNABOUT – LIVING AREA – DAY 3
Sabin shifts gears and heads to a compact exercise area dressed in futuristic workout gear. He engages in a series of stretches and calisthenics, maintaining his physical fitness; the sounds of the Trill prog-rock group Zelishon Zheth (think Rush but with spots) play over the ship’s speakers.
INT. RUNABOUT – LIVING AREA – DAY 4
Sabin dims the lights and places some Trill artifacts on the floor next to a cushion and lights some incense. He sits cross-legged on the cushion, closing his eyes and entering a state of deep meditation.
SABIN
(chanting)
Trill synara, shal’kar n’harmon.
Nara t’varin, vek t’volaron.
Eskara vek vranor, vek toran.
Nashara vek trill, s’ram vek joram.
INT. RUNABOUT – LIVING AREA – NIGHT OF DAY 6
Dressed in sleepware Sabin moves to a cozy nook with a viewscreen. He activates an ancient human show called “The Witcher” and chuckles at the misadventures of Geralt of Rivia and his companion Jaskier while idly twirling his lucky ion mallet, a cherished possession.
SABIN
Kat was right, that guy did look like me..
INT. RUNABOUT – COCKPIT – DAY 7
Sabin is back at the controls of the runabout, uniform prestine his things are packed nearly at the back of the cockpit, the runabout is stopped waiting for the USS Forger to arrive at the rendezvous.

Sabin Lahl: Personal log, stardate 50928.7. As I wait for the USS Forger, I feel a mix of excitement and anticipation. These seven days have been well-spent, preparing myself for the job ahead of me . I can’t wait to explore again, I’ve spent too long fighting wars.
The computer beeps alerting Sabin to the arrival of the Forger.
SABIN
Computer end log, and hail the Forger, let them know I’m ready to dock when they are.
FLIGHT OPS OFFICER (V.O.)
Greetings Commander you’re cleared to dock in the main shutlebay.
SABIN
(smiling)
Thank you, Forger, this is Commander Lahl, replicate me some coffee. I’ll be aboard soon.
The runabout aligns with the USS Forger, ready to dock. As the ship grows larger out the runabout windows Sabin is filled anticipation and purpose as he prepares to embark on a new chapter of his life.
