A prototype hologram created as a side project by one of Dr. Zimmerman’s lab assistants, the Morale and Welfare Hologram’s physical form is based on Arthur Marconi, the original creator of the program. Unlike the Emergency Medical Hologram, which was programmed without a name or much in the way of personality due to the intent of its use being sparing and infrequent, the Morale and Welfare Hologram was given a pre-programmed persona based on the primary bartender at a piano lounge near Starfleet Academy’s Computer Science department that Lieutenant Marconi frequented in his academy days, as well as the Lieutenant’s own middle name as its own.
The Forger’s Recreation and Observation Lounge on deck 3 Starboard has been altered and expanded to accommodate the Morale and Welfare Hologram’s self-contained core, as well as other experimental changes being tested for potential fleet-wide distribution at a later date. These changes include:
- Expanding the size of the lounge itself by removing the crew quarters on Deck 3 Starboard entirely.
- Adding a dedicated, secured room for the computer core and its backup systems attached to the lounge
- Additional storage for non-replicated/replicable items accessible from the lounge
- Adding extensive holo emitters throughout the lounge, secured core room, and storage areas, as well as the port side secondary lounge
- Furniture in the lounge has been designed to accept holographic overlays, allowing for changes in style to suit the needs of the morale of the crew
- A small stage area has been added along forward wall
- One Grand Piano has been set on the stage area to one side
Technical Data:
- Self contained core, with a mixture of isolinear chips and bio-neural gel backup systems.
- Can access holo-emitters in the Forger’s Recreation and Observation Lounge on Deck 3, the secondary Observation Lounge on the same, as well as the holodecks on Decks 4, 6, and 7.
- Can access internal communications and the information retrieval functions of the Main Computer on a limited basis, including but not limited to relevant cultural information, drink recipes, Starfleet protocols, etc.
